Xavier Sciarillo
Xavier received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2019. Since then, he has worked in Dr. Roesch's lab as a Faculty Specialist. Xavier has been involved in numerous research projects, such as recording from cells in the anterior cingulate cortex and orbitofrontal cortex in rats performing a social Pavlovian task. His most recent work involves testing rats' ability to perform complex decision making tasks, such as diminishing returns and stop signal tasks, in aged rats as well as throughout the lifespan of younger rats to determine how age impacts performance. His research interests include social behavior, learning, and aging. Outside of the lab, Xavier enjoys rock climbing, playing chess, and skateboarding.
