Our lab focuses on understanding the circuits that are critical for reinforcement learning, reward-guided decision-making, and executive control. We also aim to explore how these circuits are disrupted using animal models of drug addiction and aging. Improving our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying these functions will provide us with a better working knowledge of how we learn and behave normally, as well as what changes occur with mental disease and age.

LATEST NEWS FROM THE LAB

CONGRATLATIONS, ADAM!

Dr. Brockett is excited to be starting his lab in the Fall of 2024 within the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of New Hampshire. The lab will focus on how experiences change the brain, specifically investigating the impact of exercise, healthy aging, and psychoactive substances on the development and maintenance of frontal circuits and cognition across the lifespan. He'll be looking for graduate students and post-docs, so if that's you, please get in touch!
